The Chairman is Stewart Till CBE and the UK Film Council's Chief Executive Officer is John Woodward, former Director of the British Film Institute.

Stewart Till CBE was appointed as the Chairman of the UK Film Council on 1st August 2004, taking over from Sir Alan Parker CBE. He was previously, from 2000, the Vice-Chair.

John Woodward was appointed the first Chief Executive Officer of the Film Council in November 1999 and set up the UK 's lead strategic body for film.
